Summary: Garmin portable friction dashboard is great
Comment: I purchased one of these several months ago for myself. My daughter saw it on the dash of my car and said she would like one too. I bought her one for Christmas. It really stays put on the dash no matter how fast you turn a corner or stop. It is so much better than the windshield mount. I would highly suggest this to everyone no matter what kind of car you have. I have a Dodge Durango SUV and a Mustang GT convertible and it works wonderfully in both.

Summary: A Bit Shaky
Comment: I purchased this mount to replace the suction cup window mount that came with my Nuvi 660. Unfortunately, when placed on my F-150 dashboard, my Nuvi 660 shakes and makes looking at the display annoying. Went back to the window mount. Other than the shake, the unit performed as described.

Comment: I was so pleased with my first one, I bought 2 more of them for my kids. The lockable swivel mount holds my Nuvi 750 in place, and the flexible, weighted "wings" make it easy to position it anywhere I want it, even in between the pillar and the dashboard shroud of my Honda. The wings even fold upward if you want yo store it in a small area or pouch. I fully recommend it.

Comment: Have used a friction base before and found that the base works well and GPS stays in place and no window suction cup marks.
